AI and the Future of Aging
At Foresee, Heather Newell and colleagues re dedicated to exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the wellbeing of older adults. The mission is to understand how AI can enahnce the lives of seniors and the organisations that serve them.
Heather's passion for digital inclusion stems from a career long commitment to technology adoption. In the 1980s she was actively involved in the New Zealand Futures Trust, an organisation focused on futures studies to provide a better future for our country. During this time she contributed to a number of digital inclusion projects, recognising the importance of ensuring equitable access to technology for all.
One of her most rewarding roles was a relationship and communications manager for a bank, where she was responsible for fostering relationships with retired members of staff. This deepended her understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that digital technology presents for older adults.
"As we advance into an era where AI increasingly influences daily life, it is crucial to ensure that older adults are not left behind." said Heather. "By leveraging AI thoughtfully, society can create solutions that promote independence, enhance social connections, and improve overall well-being for seniors."
Foresee is committed to leading discussions, conducting research and developing strategies that harness the power of AI to benefit older New Zealanders and the organisations dedicated to their care.
Join Heather and colleagues on this journey as they navigate the evolving landscape of technology and aging, striving to build a more inclusive and supportive future for all.
